This dad had trouble expressing his feelings at his daughter’s wedding reception into words, so he made his gift extra special through his actions by singing a very meaningful song by Heartland entitled I Loved Her First.At the beginning of the 4-minute video, a message that says “at my reception, my dad gave me the most beautiful gift” was shown while a man was happily turning around and the audience clapping. The music then started playing and the bride’s dad began to interpret the lyrics of the song in sign language. When the camera focused on the bride, she was in tears while clutching her chest, an obvious message that she was very touched by what her father was doing. The guests as well as the waiters present in the venue were also moved and can be seen wiping away the tears that formed in their eyes. The song ended and everyone broke into applause. The bride Nicole Cortez who posted this video is a sign language interpreter and she said on the description box: “At my wedding reception my dad surprises me by signing a beautiful song. I am a sign language interpreter so this meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song.” What a wonderful expression of a father’s love!
